Brow Lift
The eyebrows are an integral part of the face and a heavy, sagging brow contributes to periorbital and facial ageing by causing hooding of the upper eyelids. Through modern techniques utilizing temporal and anterior scalp incisions, which are hidden behind the hairline, a more youthful and alert appearance is possible from an eyebrow lift.
A brow lift can:
- Restore the position of brows that have lowered over time
- Help correct moderately loose eyelid tissues
- Create a more positive, energetic and youthful appearance
Brow lifts are often performed in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation procedures, such as blepharoplasty (eyelid lift), a facelift, a neck lift or chemical peels.
Generally an outpatient procedure, a brow lift is most commonly performed under general anaesthesia, or local anaesthesia with sedation. An overnight stay may be required when combined with other procedures.
Recovery for Brow Lifts
Recovery depends on the extent of your brow lift and any accompanying procedures. The upper eyelids can be bruised and swollen for one to two weeks following surgery. You may engage in light activity the day after your surgery; a return to more normal activity may take one to two weeks. Your appearance will gradually refine over the following six to eight weeks. Proper skin care and sun protection are essential during and after healing to maintain your results.
